La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5

Ok....so....whoa....just like hold on and just....woah....

....because words cannot fully describe my love for this product. I quite like having a product for a while before reviewing it but sometimes one comes into your life and its love and first use and just why wait?! I ordered this from Escentual.com (among other things) when they were having an amazing 1/3 off French pharmacy brands, having never tried it before but being completely intrigued by it. I know a lot of beauty bloggers rave about the cicaplast lip balm and so I decided that a big huge tube of the balm would have to be a winner. I ordered this not even sure what I would use it for but it has become an instant must-have product for me. It works on EVERYTHING! I have had dry skin around my nostrils since I was about 15 and had used about a million different products (seriously 8 Hour Cream, E45, emulsifying ointment, hydraluron,  my beloved Image skincare hydrating repair creme) to get rid of it. No matter what product I used it stung when I put it on and it also only kept the dryness at bay so I would have to put more product on during the day resulting in a really strange glossy around and under my nose (sexy right?!).

Look at it, the big unassuming tube of amazing!

So one night I put some of the LRP balm around my nose and it didn't sting  and I was very pleasantly surprised but still dubious about the actual results it would deliver. Well damn my cynical mind because the next day my skin around my nose didn't hurt like it normally did and I didn't have to put some random ointment around my nose to protect it - it was just like a normal persons' skin! I don't even have to use this product every night - maybe every second night or so because it is actually fixing the problem not just covering it up!

I also used the balm on a burn I got from a curling wand (by the way can someone remind me to buy a heat protection glove because I have been meaning to for a few months at this stage and keep forgetting). It soothed the burning sensation straight away and while obviously it didn't make my skin good as new (it still hurt for a few days after and I still have the burn mark) it has sped up the healing time on the burn so so much. This is something I can say with almost scientific certainty and all because I've gotten burns from my curling wand before (it's a love-hate relationship) and they have taken so much longer to heal. I also burned the same area but on my other hand before and it honestly took a few months to completely heal and it hurt like crazy for the whole time!

I am so so impressed with this balm - normally I'm quite into science and basic chemistry because I like to know what different ingredients make a product work but I have no idea how this works so well, I think it must just be some French magic: either way there is no way I'd ever be without this product again.
